The Michigan Mental Health Networker (“The Networker”) is truly about you – the professionals, organizations, and community members who make mental health work possible every day.

The Networker exists to connect Michigan’s mental health professionals to one another, to potential clients, and to the many allied fields that support this work. Whether you’re a therapist, case manager, supervisor, researcher, educator, or community advocate, The Networker is designed to be your one-stop hub for resources, referrals, and relationships.

On The Networker’s webpage mhweb.org, you’ll find:

• Professional listings for therapists, agencies, and programs across Michigan.
• Bulletin Board announcements highlighting job openings, community initiatives, and available office space. It may also include opportunities to connect with other professionals such as attorneys, marketing experts, website developers, and consultants who can help strengthen and support the work of mental health providers.
• A calendar of events featuring trainings, conferences, rallies, and other opportunities that benefit mental health professionals and uplift the well-being of our communities.

Honoring Legacy, Embracing the Future

For more than 30 years, The Networker has been a trusted bridge within Michigan’s mental health community. Founded in 1993 by Hugh McPherson, The Networker began as a print mailing to professionals in Washtenaw County and quickly expanded to reach practitioners across the state. The website, launched in 1997, brought that same mission online – connecting people, programs, and resources in one central place.

In August 2025, The Networker entered a new chapter under the direction of Jennifer Mitchell, LPC, CCS, CAADC. Operating as a DBA of Juniper Group Co., LLC, the MMHN continues its original mission of accessible, Michigan-focused connection while expanding opportunities for collaboration, visibility, and professional growth.
