St. Mary Mercy Hospital provides both inpatient and outpatient chemical dependency programs. The mental health unit provides mental health services for adults age 18 and over, featuring a 31-bed, acute care, inpatient psychiatric unit and a 10-bed chemical dependency unit. Emergency psychiatric care is available 24 hours. The mental health unit staff provides care to individuals requiring short-term psychiatric care. The chemical dependency treatment unit program includes individual and group counseling and treatment for alcoholism, drug addiction and related emotional difficulties. A 10-bed inpatient Chemical Dependency Unit is available for patients requiring a more structured program than outpatient treatment can offer. Upon completion of inpatient care, outpatient follow-up is offered. St. Mary Mercy also makes extensive use of support groups such as Alcoholics Anonymous, Al-Anon Family Groups, Women for Sobriety and Narcotics Anonymous.
